Kit B is the spare parts kit containing parts 5, 8, 9,10, 11 and 16 (
part 6 no longer available). Remove Cap(11), Take the spanner (16) (or a large screw driver) and undo and remove the thread ring (10), take out the old packing piece (9) and the needle (8). Now use the spanner (16) to remove the screw (7).
(If in your soda syphon head there is no screw to remove here, just a small hole, then your soda syphon head is an earlier model and cannot be repaired.) Now remove the admission valve (6) and seat packing (5) - this will come out in one piece as 5 fits over 6. Clean thoroughly, the with new pieces slide 5 over 6 and put the pair into opening wide side facing outwards, carefully thread 7 back down, carefully so as not to cross thread. Put 8 in next with the needle pointing outwards, then 9 over and around the needle, this will protrude slightly and that is ok. Now screw 10 back into position and you syphon head is ready to use. The silver cap is for decoration only and should be replaced after every use. Do not leave the discharged soda bulb in position as this will cause your seals to wear out quicker. To use your syphon, fill with water up to the red line. (If no line visible put one litre of water in bottle.) Now fit the riser tube which should be connected to the neck packing (top white washer). Screw the head down tightly. Put a new soda bulb into the Wing Nut (15) Now screw this onto the head quite quickly, when the gas has finished going into the bottle, gently tip upside down and back up, several times, now remove the wing nut and dispose of the gas cartridge. Replace the Cap (11) and your soda is ready to serve. Take care with the very first press as the discharge can be sudden, a very gentle press is ideal. Use over a sink for the first time until you familiarise yourself with the workings.
